Pleasurable and Lovable Journey of Kerala

Kerala is both pleasurable and lovable-with hill stations, backwaters, waterfalls, houseboats, beaches and culture that will leave you spellbound, this is indeed Gods Own Country. The lush green, the pleasant weather and people, the numerous attractions and the excellent opportunities to soak in the sun, sea and culture-Kerala is a world of its own and with the warmth and genuine smiles from the people you hooked to this place and will come back for more.

The breath taking sights, the green and lush mountains and hillock and the virgin beaches are a must-see if you are on a break for honeymoon or are visiting with family. Kerala is also one of the states in the country that is highly specialized in the art of Ayurvedic treatments so if you have been stressed and need to unwind there is no better place to do that than in the lap of luxury spa treatments offered in Kerala.

If you are visiting, there is no reason not to get a glimpse of beauty and awe, so without further ado here is a list of some of the most visited and loved places in Kerala:

1) Munnar: Munnar is one of the hottest destinations, hands down.  If its summer in the rest of the country, Munnar is cool and breezy. This hill station is not like any other. With tea and coffee plantations all over the place and national parks and a variety of peaks, Munnar offers peace, quiet and grace. Some of the places to visit when you are in Munnar are:

a) Eravikulam National Park: The Eravikulam National Park is one of the main attractions at Munnar. The park offers excellent view of the rolling hills and tea plantations that are kissed by mists throughout the day. The park is the house of Neelakurinji flower and rare animals and butterfulies as well as the endangered inhabitant the Nilgiri Tahr.

b) Mattupett is the storage dam at Munnar and has some amazing views and enjoyable boat rides amidst rolling hills and plantations.

c) Other must-see sites include Chinnakanal, Anayirangal, Top station, Tea Museum, Pallivasal and more!

2) Thekeddy: Spice plantations, chains of hills, and stupendous landscapes these are the images that conjure up at the thought of Thekeddy.  Some of the must visit places include the boat rides at Periyar Tiger Reserve and relaxing at watchtowers at the reserve. Thekeddy is a must-visit town in Kerala. This quaint little town is unassuming and immensely loaded on cultural treats that define Kerala. With traditional kalaripayattu, Ayurvedic spas, and the everlasting greenery you can stay for a couple of nights to soak in the luxury of this town at a good resort.

3) Alleppey: Houseboats at Alleppey are one of the greatest attractions in Kerala. With the comforts of a good hotel that is furnished with all the requirements you can enjoy the backwaters of Alleppey while you glide down the river enjoying the stillness and peace that city life doesn't offer.

4) Kovalam: The beach at Kovalam is one of the most pristine beaches in India. Kovalam is famous internationally and has options for sunbathing, herbal body toning massages, swimming,  special cultural programmes and catamaran rides as well as yoga. While the best time to visit is September to march, Kovalam is beautiful and relaxing all around the year.
